Is 350 Watts enough?
Is 350 Watts enough?
I have a problem. I just bought the Q-logic enclosure for my 07 SCrew, a Alpine amp rated at 400 Watts RMS (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-R4PrOzY...0&I=500MRPM450) and a JBL sub rated at 400 Watts RMS (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-R4PrOzY...20&I=109P1024). Everything is well but the top of the sub is overlapping part of the enclosure (meaning its to big). I'm kind of tight right now b/c I wanted to have my system down tonight. So here is what's left. 1 I keep the enclosure but buy a different sub (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-R4PrOzY...20&I=108K1047W) that is rated at 350 Watts RMS. I will have to cut back on the gain b/c of the 400 Watts RMS amp. Long story short, I really wanted 400 watts but I might have to settle for 350 b/c of the box. My question is, is 350 watts enough for this truck or should I buy a different box that may hold a bigger sub (which I dont know where to start looking). As far as music goes: I listen to hiphop, pop, R&B, and some jazz.

Thats the problem. It doesnt go down all the way. I just would like to know if 350 watts is significant. I'm not looking for ppl to hear me coming down the block but I would like for ppl and myself who are inside the truck to feel as is if the system sounds nice and clean. Also I will be keeping the 400 watt amp and adding that to the 350 watt sub if I decide to do this. I need you guys help b/c I need to excahnge it b4 2 pm today
Cool but do you think that 350 watts is good for a sub to sound great? or sound I change my whole setup and look for more RMS. Also how do you feel about Infinity Subs b/c this is the one I'm looking at getting.

So the mounting hole in the Q logic is not big enough for the sub to fit in. You are correct in that will not work.
350 watts is plenty for good sounding bass. I ran as little as 200 watts to a 12" sub and it would get plenty loud.

Thank you. Yeah the sub is a 10'' JBL but the top will not flush, so I'm going with a Infinity 10'' sub that is rated at 350 instead of 400. I'm just hoping that the 350 is going to be loud enough and clean

It will fit in the hole but the top of the sub is hitting the leg of the enclosure. And on the other end its covering the speaker cup (the cup that houses the + and -) See pic below
