lol I was till my dad killed my tank and I ran out of money, I've been looking at an empty 3.5G and 70w MH for months now, I really miss my shrooms

 

I'm just now getting into it. I'm doing all my research and being patient.,,not rushing anything. Basically trying to figure out what set-up.

 

I think I'm going to get a RSM and see about the HQI 150 retro fit that nanocustoms.com has for it. I can get the RSM for $600 including the stand. The HQI retro fit is like $400 though! Not to mention the price of a chiller.

Or, I might just go with a AquaPod 24g with a HQI 150...complete set-up (LR, LS, etc.) for just over $600.

I really want to go bigger and piece a system together, but I should keep it simple my first time around.

 

I bought a 90G with the intentions of going bigger, I filed it with water once and sold it, reefin is UBER expensive, I had about $1000 invested in my 10G alone between equipment livestock, test kits and all the other stuff

I will tell you this tho, RODI, trust me it will make your life WAY easier
I was also using BioSea marine salt mix with great results, really the most important items you buy are your skimmer, lighting and rodi unit, right now the only thing holding me back is a 1/20 hp chiller.

btw my 70w hqi was about $120

 

i used to be into sw aquariums but ended up selling it all because it was hella expensive, but i used to have a 55g with 440w VHO over it, about 90lbs of LR and full 30g sump with algae refugium, and i would love to start another little tank for my apartment at school. i tell ya tho, there's nothing more relaxing than seeing some little guys swimmin around when you've had a bad day...

styx, you would have loved my shrooms man... reds, greens, and blues - then rics, tons of zoos, and LARGE monti's (im talkin dinner plate sized) man i really miss it hm... a 15-20g may be in my near future...

 

I had a crapload of shrooms, but nothing in my tank grew like the kenya tree and xenia, that stuff grew crazy fast, It wasnt until I moved that my zoos started to grow, most the time they would fade away and die, leathers on the other hand grew FAST, I have a 55G FW setup with a single 110 vho, best thing is the place I ordered my one bulb sent me 10 by mistake, I want to do a nice plated tank but once again my fish budget wont allow new filter pads let alone a complete co2 setup

Ha. I've got horses and they grow in the manure like crazy as well.

Where we used to stable, they had to chase kids off that were coming in and taking them from the piles. Pretty sad when you have to look in $h17 to have a good time.
