Having a little trouble deciding
Having a little trouble deciding
Hey, yeah I'm new, first post
I'm stuck decing on a speaker setup. I don't know what subs to go with, I have a custom built box I just had made. Holds 4 12"s and has enough room in it to hold almost anything (takes up the entire back of the truck, no seats had to actually take the fronts out to get it in) I already have made up my mind on JL audio for the amps, but as far as the subs go I can't make up my mind and these guys at Custom Auto just try to make me get the highest priced crap. I'm looking for something to absolutely BANG. I already have components hooked up in the front they are all MB Quarts. The speakers in the door are really really loud I can turn them all the way up (on a 450/4 amp) and they are clear. But like I said I'm looking into the subs so a little imput from someone who has a little 411 would be nice.

im guessing the box you already made was for 4 round 12's?? i would reccomend kicker, i have a lot of experience with them especially the L7's...but if your box has round cutouts try the kicker compvx 12's....750 rms/1500 peak.....i ran two of these ina ported box@33 hertz and that **** slammed, im sure 4 of these would move some major air
yeah there are 4 round cut outs, at this point im looking into the JL Audio W7, Rockford Fosgate Power T212D2, Kicker 06CVX122 CompVX. It mainly depends on just what custom auto has in stock (as they are all kinda-of pricey)

Do you have the 2,000 watts needed to power 4 of these subs and some really good sound damping? They are going to pound the crap out of your truck. A pair of 1000/1's should do the trick. If loud is what you are after, you should be able to achieve that. Just curious as to why you want that much bass in the confines of a truck?
