Why spend that much money when you could bargain shop online for all of that at half that price! I suggest you go to onlinecarstereo.com or crutchfield.com and look at the reviews on all there equipment. you will learn alot by just browsing.

I would definitely shop for price alone.

Haven't heard them recently, but Pioneers are wal-mart fodder to me... and If I want wal-mart, I'll go with a Rockford Fosgate made "Lightning Audio" for a fifth of the price in a heartbeat.

Sounds steep. Just off the cuff without seeing it in person, I'd say it's a high price. And the amp? Find an over achiever like an old Autotek, or Fosgate (old style) - not an over promiser like most Pioneers or Sony's turn out to be.

I've seen some decent Pioneer & Sony headunits, but that's about it (outside of home equipment).

Definitely shop the price - but know what you're getting. A good JL (lower end) or even an elemental designs (online only) will be cheaper I think... and should out perform a Pioneer (Premier or not).

I second that notion on the old pre maxxsonics autotek amps, I've been running one since 01 and its now going in the 4th vehicle

My son , most of my sons friends and 2 of my nephews are running either Pioneer or Premier subs . They are bullet proof to say the least , They beat the living **** out of them and never a problem . A good friend of mine works at Johns Stereo in South Haven , MI . They have sold over 250 Premier subs in the last few years . Not one of them has ever came back . I think that says something . As far as pricing , you can do MUCH better online .

if your gonna lift your seat, you'll have lots of space for some deeper subs. you can fit subs in there that will outperform the pioneers by a mile. pioneers are a good entry level sub but if your serious about a high quality, loud system then get something else. and you will definitly find better prices online.

my friend had 2 of those pioneer 12" subs that he bought at an audio shop and my 10" audiobahn compression sub was louder then both his subs.

10" L7s are only 6 inches deep....you should be able to fit those with the seat lift...and dont be alarmed that they are only 10s, they sound like they are way bigger.

Entry level ????????????????? HARDLY . Please do some homework before posting . Premier subs & amps broke every spl record known to man at the 2005 Spring Break Nationals . If that is entry level , what does that say about (high end) audio ?

hmm well
A) if i took a trailer and put 9 subs in it, im sure i could hit 175dB too....scott owens used 9 subs to put out that number. The truck holds 36 amplifiers, 72 16-volt Turbo Start batteries and three Ohio Generator 285-amp alternators and produces 115,200 watts of power.
B) other competitive systems have hit in the 170+ range with only 2-3 subs and 10,000 watts of power.
C) if the pioneer premier sub 1v1 was the loudest sub in the industry, i dont think they would be sold online for like 70 bucks each...dont forget that their sound quality is subpar.
D) just because this is pioneers best subwoofer doesnt mean its world class. i dont think the original poster plans to slap 9 subs and 36 amps in his truck...
AND if you had "done your homework"...or just read the original post, he is talking about the silver premier version, which isnt even pioneers top of the line woofer....which is completely black...

1) I never said premier subs were the loudest in the industry .
2) I was saying Premier products are not (entry level).
3) Please provide the vehicle and gear that hit 170+ with 2 subs .
4) There are many vehicles competing in Meca , DB drags & Idbl that have just as many components (some have more) than these two pioneer vehicles.
but yet they haven't broke world records .

I agree , a system is only as good as its weakest link .
