Jl 10w3v2

I just bought one for my SCREW. Anyone have recommendations for the amp I should run to it, or the wattage? I know if says it can handle 300W @ 4ohms constant. Should I run an amp that will push 400W @ 4ohms constant and turn the amp down? Whats the best way to approach this?

Thanks
David

find a mono amp that pushes 300w @4ohm. no need to run the amp at full power, turn the gain down a bit. your sub will perform best this way. you dont want melted voice coils.

I found a standard down firing box. It has more than enough air space and mounting dept. It allows me to keep the jack in. I found it on ebay. His customers game him good comments and he was at 99.8. I figured I would give it a try. It was 100 shipped so the price wasnt that bad.

400 watts should be a problem for it. Set your gains correctly with a Voltmeter and you shouldnt have any problems.

Since its at 4 ohm, you could also find a 2 channel and bridge it. If your running something that low of power at 4 ohm, a bridged two channel is a better option if you ask me, cost wise anyway.

If your running a mono at 4 ohm, your only using 1/2 or 1/4 of the power it can make...why pay for all that power when your not going to use it? Thats how I look at it anyway, unless you plan to add a second sub later on.

Before my wife takes this sub to get installed I need to know if it will fit without a seat lift. If I dont put a seat lift on will there be enough for a full excursion?

Thanks

it also depends on the box if the box is bigger than the recomended spec than less power would be needed for the sub to run at its peak efficiency. but if the box is smaller than spec just the opposite more power needed.

The box is slight bigger than the spec but not much at all. I just dont want my wife to take it there and then they try to charge her for crap that doesnt need to be done. Thats why I want to know if it will fit under the seat without a lift.

Thanks

I dont know much about the whole seat lift thing but as for the power 400 would be fine but 250-300 would be your best choice
