How does this setup look????

I was just wondering what you all think about this set up. Anything you would change. Anything else I would need besides the RCA cables and box. Thinking of using the musicmoose box w/ spacer kit.

I like everything except the 5 x 7 components. I would go with 5 1/4" or even better 6 1/2" before I would use the 5 x 7. I have never been a fan of the 5 x 7 shape. 6 1/2" would provide better lows up front. Other than that, looks pretty good.

Can you please elaborate some. Looking for a good quality sound. Don't have to be the loudest.

5x7's are not going to give you quality sound
rear fill is not going to give you quality sound
alpine hype-R speakers are not worth what you would pay for them and will not give you quality sound

the kenwood HU is good, those are quality units, shame you cant spring a little more for nice double Di, JL make decent subs

you need to rethink your front stage and ditch the rear stage

What do you recomend for a front stage then. I checked the amp specs it can be bridged to 150x2. If I do that would I need to get 2 subs instead of 1 to equal out the sound of the highs and lows.

Sorry for all the ???'s. Been out of the audio system scene since 1994.

You would still be alright with only one sub. Bridging and running 150 x 2 to the front comps would be great. You can run the rear speakers off the head units power or not at all. Depending on your budget, I would look at Rainbow. They have great comp sets from $200 to $1k. For the money, they are hard to beat at their price point.

Man You said rainbows and I was like noway am I paying over $1000 for a set of componets I don't care how good they sound. But after some checking I found 2 lines that look doable. The CMX-265 and the SLC-265. Which one would be the better of the two. What will I have to do to install them. Where can I get them from other than premier audio.

well I had a change of mind on that. I have a alpine cda-9856 head unit now. Man I work with is trading in his mercury mariner and sold me the head unit, i-pod control, and xm adapter for $125.

BTW does anybody know if the plug for the mariner and the f 150 are the same. I measured and the face plate is different. My local car shop only sells harnesses with installs only and they said it's different but I want to be sure.

Can't say for certain but I'd be willing to bet they are not the same. Just but a metra install kit off ebay for $12 they come with adapters. I looked one up last night.

Far as the type R's I've been running a type R 6.5 for a center channel and for it's low power it sounds pretty good in the dash. I got them on ebay for like $30 so well worth it.

Looks good. I would for sure take the IDQ over the CVR anyday. Worlds of SQ difference between the two. IDQ's are some of the best SQ subs around. Dual 4 ohm voice coil IDQ in a small sealed box and you have great low end punch.
