Cost is always a factor. I began my original thread by asking what speakers worked best in our trucks. I was told that rainbows were the best. Then I was told I needed to push more power to them. It has spiralled upwards from there.

You have a good idea abut switching the 450/4. It sounds like a good idea, but everyone has been saying that the rainbows will not sound good with only 75w. So I'm not sure

75 watts would work on the Germaniums. But, they really need more power. You are buying alot of speaker and not getting the most out of it. If you are interested in Rainbow, look at the SLC or Dreamline. They are lower end lines than the Germs but, at their price point, are still some of the best.

I have never been a big fan of Sony anything but hey, you never had a problem with it. If you are buying new, then your options on a budget are limited. If you want to look at used, then all kinds of options open up. One of my favorite lower cost brand of amps is Memphis. They make great bang for the buck amps in 1, 2, 4 or 5 channel amps. The Memphis Belle line are awesome amps.
