center console

i have a 97' f150 with the 2 bucket seats and center console and i went to look into gettin me a system and they told me about the jl audio center console which is a 10" or 12" jl sub...they gave me a price quote for the sub, amp, and box which is all jl and installation for a price of $1,055....is that a good price or reasonable?bcuz this is the first time ive bought subs so i dont know how much they run for a usual price.thanks

im 17 years old, and im building my own box right behind the center console in my screw, ive only paid around $300, for amp, sub, wood. If you have the money I would buy it, if not then look into building yourself something that is nice, i know they make alot of pre-built boxes for your truck, and spend your money on something in your "soon to have list". thats what i would do!

Yikes! Seems way too high to me. If you really like the proposed setup, then take down the model # of each piece & then buy separately on the internet/ebay. You can always go back and "let them" install it.

IMHO, the only way you should pay over $1000 is if you were getting a DVD player/navigation with the system. But even then... I'm putting a DVD/Nav, sub box, and amp in mine this month for under $1000.

Dude, that is way too much. I got my subs (2 10" kicker comps, 1 12" cvr), center console, box's (one built, one bought), amps, deck, dash kit, and power cap for 800$. Look on their sight for how deep the subs are and the volume you need. then just do some measuring and math and you can build it.
