subs/amp hookup

Ok I need a little bit of help here because I'm not very familiar when it comes to stereo hook up and such. I bought 2 kicker 10" subs already mounted in a box and it came with an amp and all the wiring I need in order to install it. I know how to hook the subs up to the amp, but I have no clue how to hook up the amp to whatever it needs to be hooked up to. Could somebody help me with this? I would really appreciate the help guys.

you need to search these forums for line output converter.

or just buy one of these:

Please specify if you can the wattage of your amp and speakers. You will need to purchase the correct guage (power and ground) wire based on your system. In your case I would guess and say that you should be running 4 guage power and ground wires.

Chk out this video on how to install an amp.

i just wired a whole system in my friends car last night....

with your system you want a 4 guage wiring kit.

wire the red power wire from your batery (RED POSITIVE TERMINAL) through the front and to your amp, making sure your fuse is no more then 12" from the battery. (i wired mine through passenger side up in front of the front seat way to the right, there is a very nice size hole leading from the engine bay to the cab where your stock wires are running, try running it through that)

attach the black ground wire somewhere to the chassy, theres plenty of bolts back there to wire to, and connect that to you amp.

the tiny thin blue wire is your remote turn on. you want to attach this to something that turns on when you turn your ignition on and turns off when you turn off the ignition (this wire tells the amp when to turn on and off)

the RCAs you will need a high-low converter(which you can attach to either your deck or any of your speakers, it will come with directions for you), attach RCAs to that and wire it to your amp.

nake sure your gain on your amp isnt more then halfway, and be sure to break your sub in a bit as they are stiff when they are brand new so dont crank it up for the first week or so. otherwise, enjoy.

anyone feel free to correct me if i said something wrong.
