Does anyone know the the size of the speaker in the doors of the 05 f150 xlt w/ optional stereo upgrade? I know one is a 6 by 8. whats the smaller one?

 

There are 2 possibilities for F150's

The 5" round and the 6X8's...most likely they are all 6x8's

 

I'm confused here the "bigger speaker" are all 5x7's but the hole will hold a 6x8, 6x9, and up to a 6.5 without cutting but some require adapter plates. Are you referring to the tweeter as the smaller speakers? Generally don't worry about size there as most descent replacement tweeters come with mounting hardware.


oh I should say if you get replacements go with 6.5's. better sound and better options.

 

im guessing they would be 5x7's..having just replaced all my audio equipment in my truck i had stock 5x7's in the front which i replaced with 6.5" round alpines with adapter plates and in the rear i replaced the stock 5x7's with alpine 5x7's..may not seem like much of a difference but the sound quality is quite a big difference

 

I have two speakers in the front panel im trying to find out what size the smaller one is. I have the premium stereo option with 6 speakers instead of four.

 

Try this...go to http://www.crutchfield.com/ do a search on your speakers with their fit guide...best source of info. I would do it for you but I am in a meeting right now and people are looking at me funny as I type this.

 

I just checked, looks like you can pick 5.1/4 5/7 and 6/8 for the doors.

most speakers will work.
