Question 99 Regular cab speaker install

Hey guys,

I need help getting my front door panels off. So far i have the rear trim piece off that just has two clips and I also have the switch panel off. Now i did some searching on the site and it says two pop the circle peice off to get the handle off. well mine doesnt have that circle its just smooth. Ive read other steps that say there is two screws on the very bottom of the door, i also dont have those.

So again its a 99 F-150 Stepside reg cab XLT. how on earth do i get this panel off to install speakers. thanks guys

Alright, once i got how to remove the panel it went like clock work. Now on to the back, those god dam plastic rivet type things are the worst invention ever. What happened to good old screws, and put some plastic caps over them. All my family is just outside watching me swearing and yell trying to get these things out. I understand you push the centers in, but on some you can only push so far and they hit the metal. sure hope the dealer stocks these cause im going to need to probably replace all of them

yea I hate those plastic screw rivet things but not nearly as much as those tree panel fasteners.

Invented by a very evil man:

Lol. I actually like those little center push things. There shouldnt be any way that they can hit metal and not come all the way out though

Just pop the center in about 1/4 of and inch and pull them out with the panel...

Thanks for the help guys, this is probably the 5th vehicle that I have done speaker install on and this was definitely the hardest. I ended up having to finish in the dark and didn't realize i sliced my hand open. Looks like a murder seen in my truck, luckily its just on the plastic panels.
