sub box for 02 supercrew
sub box for 02 supercrew
I currently have 1 pioneer ten inch sub but will be replacing it w/ an alpine type E anybody know of a box out there that would accomodate both{not at the same time} for under the seat of my truck?the mtx box is really expensive and i dont need an amp. ive seen the boxes for two subs or the expensive mtx box but i just want to run only 1 sub. any ideas?
didn't work for me:(
I have a sony ten inch, 1000 wt, and when I had it under the seat the box was just to shallow, hard hit, low volume, and it bottomed out almost all the time. Unfortuantley I lost the 40 part of the spilt seat in the back due to having a deeper box, and folding the seat down. I'm not sure how much room is under the seats in the supercrew, mines the supercab, but I can't imagine a lot. If you do find a box i bet it will cost A LOT! Good luck!
contact the guys over at supercrewsound.com for a great box, they are always extremely helpful in finding out exactly what box will best fit your needs and the boxes they build are of great quality. price isnt bad and they can accomodate pretty much any thing you want to do. im on my second box from them and i have nothing but good things to say. they definitely stand behind their products
thanks
I have emailed them but they have yet to get back 2 me.i have a ? for u.i was thinkin of runing seperates in my front doors but u have 6x8s how do they sound on an amp?
i think they sound great..i have absolutely no complaints. i designed the system in this truck to sound good, be loud enough to hear clearly with the windows down and driving down the highway, and be value minded. I have worked for a car audio shop for the last six to eight years. My past vehicles have always had systems that were not exactly budget friendly, and were much louder than necessary - went to competitions with some of them. I just needed this system to be simple, relatively inexpensive, and not take up any of my interior passenger space. If you want to spend the extra cash and the extra time to fab up the panels to accomodate the seperates in the doors then go for it, you wont be disappointed at all. you will get better midbass out of the seperates and can run higher power to them. but i am more than pleased by my infinity 6x8s and when combined with the subs i get a very balanced sound that gets plenty loud for both tailgating, hanging out at the river, and riding around with the windows down. hope this helps, and if you have any other questions feel free to ask

cool i would like to do a stereo like yours clean loud and budget freindly.i prefer alpine equipment and was wanting your opinion on using all alpine.how much power are u running per channel to your 6x8s?also where did you mount your amps?
alpine makes great equipment, ive never owned their speakers or subwoofers myself but ive installed plenty of them..i have owned many of their headunits and amplifiers and never had a single problem with any of them. i think alpine is a top notch company. the only reason i am running a clarion headunit in my truck now is the shop i work for pushes clarion very hard and doesnt carry alpine as the other main local shop does. my amplifiers are jbl b/c ive been using them religiously since about 2002 when they released the Powervalve line of amps (their previously marketed car audio amplifiers were a bit on the cheaply made side and were never notoriously popular other than extremely low budget amplifiers for people wanting to spend next to nothing). my amplifiers i have now are the JBL CS series which are their current budget amplifier line, i run the 300 watt sub amp and the CS60.4 amp for my doors. Its pushing 60 watts to each speaker(4 ohm/channel load). like i told you previously, i didnt design the system to win any competitions or meet any truely audiophile quality standards..i just needed it to play clear and loud over windows down road noise, and be heard away from the truck when down at the river and tailgating..and it does all that superbly and i didnt spend nearly as much as i usually do which makes me feel pretty good about the decisions. as far as going all alpine, i think you could do that, i dont know if the alpine subs will fit under the back seat but maybe the type e would? will have to check the airspace and mounting depth on those subs as i have no experience with them, but as far as door speakers go i think alpine would be fine, they should play plenty loud if you put an amplifier on them

almost forgot, i mounted a carpeted board behind my backseat and mounted the amps to that. amps are mounted horizontally on the board so that connections are easily accessed thru the access hatches in the plastic panel that fits behind the back seat...everything is neatly tucked away and out of site, not really any other other place they fit easily if your running subs in an underseat box...ive seen people put amps in the dash of these trucks but it wasnt worth the hassle in my opinion
