Front Speaker Installation 2006 Questions

Guys,

I came across a set of MB Quart RCE268 compnent speakers (6x8 woof and .8" tweets) and want to install them into my 2006 F150.

I have swapped out the factory stereo for an aftermarket unit using a crutchfield harness.

What would be the best way to plug these in?

What is the best way to get the door grill off?

Thanks!

no amps? I'd get a small amp to drive them. But try the factory speaker harness first. You may like them with out a amp.

Crutchfield also sells adapters to plug your new speakers into the factory speaker harness.

Amps in the very near future! The wierd thing about the crutchfield harness is that one of the RCA's goes to a "Woofer connection" in mono and another goes into the subwoofer connection also in mono.

Does that affect how the front speakers are driven? Are the woofers amped outside the radio somehow?

Are the tweeters wired to the radio separate from the woofers?

I'll check that out. thanks!

It shouldn't effect the front speakers. But I think there is a amp for the sub but I'm not certain about that. I'm sure a forum search would tell you.

If you're talking about the stock sub for the Audiophile stereo, yes there is a small amplifier bolted right next to the sub on the box. I know because I just pulled mine out about 3 hours ago... lol.

You can also pick them up without shipping for $10 at circuit city. They are the metra52-7600 i believe. They worked great in mine.
