Factory subwoofer popping????
I have an 06 XLT Screw and upgraded to the Audiophile system. I have everything hooked up, but when I turn on the truck, the sub/amp "pops". I had to get power to the remote from a 12v source on the wiring harness to the radio.
Does anyone know how to stop the popping noise when the truck is turned on? When the sub comes on, it sounds very nice for a stock system! I know I could do better with aftermarket, but that seems to attract every moron in the world to my vehicle. I've had too many systems stolen in my time. So, as far as a stock system, this is very good, except for that popping noise.

You cannot get your turn on from any old 12v ignition source. If you have the small audiophile plug behind the radio, little sqaure plug, check for your turn on there. I am not sure what the voltage is, but check for a turn on power, this will fix your popping. Worked for me!!
I'm not sure what you mean by that? I got the power from a 12V source coming into the stereo on the main harness. My guess is what your saying is that I need to find another power source for the remote that does not cause the popping noise? I'm not sure why Ford does have enough power coming from the Audiophile headunit to power the sub? Anyone else having this problem? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Oh yeah, I bought one of those Stingers, but that didn't work either.
