Stock speaker size?

Would someone be kind enough to tell me what the stock speaker size is in my 06 Supercrew? I think they are the baseline speakers. TIA

The doors are designed to hold 6x8 speakers. 5x7's usually fit in the same frame, so maybe the factory speakers really are 5x7's. However, if you're looking to install aftermarket replacements, look for true 6x8 models. You can generally get more sound output and power handling capability from the 6x8 models on the market. Do a vehicle specific search on Crutchfield.com and see what you get.

Although Crutchfield doesn't have them, I recommend the Pioneer Rev series. I have them and they rock!

I was looking at those online just the other day. I was going to measure my truck for depth. Did you have any problem with the depth of those in the front doors at all?

I had thought about getting a 6.5 component set. I can purchase the cutouts to make the 5x7 or 6x8....to fit 6.5's. Just for the front that is. Then perhaps the 6x8 for the rears. Pair those up with a adequate 4 channel amp. I already have a JVC indash 7" monitor.

I don't think anyone makes a 5x7 to 6.5 adapter plate but if you get 5x7 to 5.25 they should work. Well, at least they did for me but your results may vary.
