Amp in center console - 2000 Super Cab
Hey all, first post...
I'm looking to run a pair of 10's under the rear seats in a box like this:

As I'm sure most of you know, there isn't a lot of room to mount an amp. Where are you guys with 2000-ish F-150's putting them?
I had a thought about putting one in the center console. I guess it would have to be a pretty small amp, and I question it's cooling ability. Would it get too hot?
I'm not looking to win any competitions, I just want a good sounding stereo for my daily ride...
Thanks!

Im not sure how big the center consoles are, but you might be able to stick an amp in there. Depending on the amp, you may or may not have problems with cooling.
In my buddies '93 we put an amp in the center console, and ended up with some cooling problems. We stuck a fan in there and it works like a charm. I think his biggest problem is the amp though. He had a Jensen in there that would overheat just sitting in the open, then he switched to a Rockford Punch amp. Nicer amps, but they get hot as he!!. With a cooler running amp, I dont really think you would have a problem.
