Hey guys, it's been a while. I'm about to order a new truck with audiophile and want to take my sub and amp from my 04 and put it in the new one with as little of work as possible. I really don't want to go through all what I did on my 04 but want more then what the factory sub can give. Besides, I already have a nice sub box and amp setup that would fit in the new one. Would be nice to just power up my amp from the battery and use the factory sub harness for the rest. Let me know if it's possible and I'll start doing some research here to find out how. Of course if you want to, you could just tell me how.
Anyway, looks like a lot of new people and some very nice systems around here since I've checked in.

 

What? No one has tried putting an after market sub and amp running off of the stock sub harness using line converters? I hoping to use the wiring from the harness to start my amp up and the left and right line signals. I'll power my amp up straight from the battery. Come on guys, I've done my share of helping out here since the 04s came out. Just looking for a little in return.

 

I really couldnt tell you, I dont pay much attention to the factory stuff.

After a little searching on google I would say it would probably be possible because of this harness I found.

Thats for adding an aftermarket stereo, but you can see it has a turn on wire, and two signal wires. If you can find out what pins are what, I would say its possible.

Great find. I've been reading a lot of threads all day. I know it's possible, now I just have to make up my mind to either leave the factory sub or bring mine to the new truck. I'm not looking forward to going through it again but I'm sure I'll end up doing it. It's hard to go backwards after having good bass. I have 4 to 6 weeks to think about it before my truck comes in. Thanks Bartak1, thats going to help out a lot.

 

I would be putting those REs in the minute I got it home. I though I would be able to make it with the stock setup for a month or so before I got everything in; by the second day I was cussing the stock stuff, almost not even wanting to listen to the radio because of it. Had to at least get my comps in

Not to question what you are doing, but if you are going to be removing it, what is the point of ordering the truck with the Audiophile system and paying all that extra for it???

I ordered my truck with just the basic CD player / stereo (no Audiophile, no 6 Disc, etc...) as I knew that I would be removing it as soon as I got home. For much less than what the Audiophile system costs, I installed a Kenwood DPX-701 HU, iPod Interface, MTX Thunderforms and Amp and it sounds way better than the Audiophile ever could.

It just seems like a waste to pay for something that you are going to remove from the truck anyways.

 

I'll put it back in 3 years from now when I get my next one.
I also may be giving it to my son, so, he'll want it in there. Besides, given the cost of the truck, the Audiophile is nothing.
One other point is I will not be changing the look of the truck. I'm using the stock Hu in my truck now and will be doing the same in my new one.
