which way should I face my subwoofers

hey all , Just wanted to know which way should I face my 12 inch subwoofers ...towards the front . the back or to the side thanks for the help

For a pickup, downfiring is usually my favorite too.

Well, personally, I like to face away from them myself - it helps a lot with being able to see out front to drive
