LMI rear seat lift

I just got the LMI rear seat lift kit and would like some advice.

The instructions call for a t50 and t40 to remove the seats. I see the t50 bolts - where are the t40's? Also they say that to be able to fold the seat into the upright position it is necessary to cut the factory pivot points off the midbracket before proceeding to step #10.

I want to be able to return the truck to "stock" for trade in etc. What exactly are they talking about?
Thanks, (and I love the truck except the -07 has a hard to find antenna connecter - the metra adapter sucks with no shielding and little copper).

you just remove the torx screw in the plastic housing on top of the back seat. Then you will have to remove for screws (i think) along the back of the bottom seat. Then there is another screw on either side of the seat bench.

You definitely shouldnt be cutting anything.

Ihad to add some washers to get the new seat brackets to line up correctly.

I didn't cut them and I can still get the seat to raise but I have to push the seat cushion in some to clear the old post. If I can find a junk yard with the factory center support I will cut them.

Far as quality goes I'm disappointed in this product. The holes for the center pivot points 1/4" bolt holes were way off forcing me to redrill the holes. They also didn't include any washers so I have to hit lowes tomorrow to get washers. Very bad instructions as well. This is where pictures are worth 1000 words. Sigh....

Oh yea, those T-40 bolts are the ones on the side of the seat near the leaver to raise the seat.

agreed... the directions are crap, and the fit is worse. But there is no alternative that i know of.

There were some good pics from somebody's gallery that i used as reference, i cant remember whos tho. Probably would find it in 2 secs w/ a search but im in a hurry. I'll try to find it later

I had to get creative b/c i didnt have a bunch of matching washers laying around and i didnt want to drive to lowes/ home depot so i have all sorts of miss matching washers in it.haha

Good luck with the rest of the install. At least it sounds like you didnt have the problem i had of getting that passenger side bolt out behind the seat. what a PITA for me b/c of rust.

Yea I had those rear seat bolts out before when I was putting sound deadener down. Lots of WD-40 helps on the 04's.

I used washers all the way around for a little extra lift and correct fitting. I also ended up cutting the "posts" off that allow the seat to swivel up and down. The seat now(without the box in place) raises and lowers just as it did when it was stock now.

It was a PITA, if it werent for the overly strong guy working at O'Reilly's i would have never got it done. The 4 bolts on the bottom of the cab are really a pain in the rear and difficult to get to. I didn't cut any mounts off mine and the seat still swivels up and down, just have about an inch gap between the two seats.

What do you mean you have an inch gap between the two? Like between the left and right side of the bottom cushions?? I'm going to do a box mocked up after something Brypink did, with 2 10s facing forward, and this will obviously require I do some sort of seat lift. I'm curious what all is involved- what makes the LMI kit not fit properly? Are the holes just misaligned or what? What would it take to make my own?

Yes, there is an inch gap between the two bottom cushions. Don't know how it made a gap after the install, but wasnt like it before I installed it.

I had a gap in mine too. bout an inch. Also the back brackets couldnt sit straight because of the silver bar that holds the back seat. It was in the way. so they were sitting at an angle out towards the outside of the truck. which made the seats be apart like that

Well i just ordered 100 ft^2 of eDead that will be here next week and as soon as all the sound deadening is done, I will be fabbing up my own seat lift kit out of 2" solid aluminum blocks. I have a friend who is pretty handy with this sort of stuff and will keep you guys posted with pics and what not. I'm going to try and get around the problems the LMI has including notching out part of the bracket where the bar goes across in the back. Pics to come!

I noticed that, I was wondering if you could just load it up with washers to get it over the silver bar that holds the seat??
