Pop off the plastic grill on the front doors. Use a small flathead screwdriver and gently pry out the bottom and work your way up by hand. The rest of the clips pop out easily. There should be a hole already there for a tweeter, right above the door handle. At least that's what my '06 looks like.

Yup put them in the factory hole unless you can put them in the kick panel. Whatever you do don’t put them in the A pillars or above the seat belt brackets like some of the systems you see. Tweeters are highly directional. Placing them in those spots will ruin your sound stage. The best places to put speakers are in the kick panels, unless you have some fancy time alignment, it equalizes the path lengths and images much better. The factory holes will do just fine.

I've used tweets on the A-Pillar in the past using a dedicated amp and a dsp. Setting the time and phase right can greatly enchance the sound stage. I've thought about doing those spots in my truck but havn't had the time to play.

I poped off the trim, the tweeter hole is rather large, looks bigger than 1 inch, is this normal?
