I have a sub box for my truck, it is 6 inches mount depth center, I tried to put the punch p3 subs in it but they were way too big.

I went to my audio shop and they check subs that fit and came up with the OZ Audio 10 inch subs that were rated at 4 7/8". But I dont know how good Oz Audio is. I just want the best subs that could fit in my box.

What are the best shallow mount subs?

I haven't heard one yet, but the guys at a local car audio shop said the Pioneer Pancake subs were about the most awesome thing they'd ever heard in a shallow box.

 

i also have heard pioneer premier sub, i think that is the name of it. i really like it and when i get back in town i will probably purchase one so i can have a lil thump when i take my 18" out of the backseat

 

what square subs, solo baric kickers wont fit, so what other subbs would fit that are square

also....elemental designs makes a shallow mount sub thats only 3 inches deep. call the Slimline SQ10...go figure haha

 

are the kicker cvt shallow mount subs any good, because I know the solo baric subs are insane?

 

Look at the new rockford p3s shallow mount they are shipping right now.

I assume the subs will fit in my 10 inch round hole, but will I have to seal anything since the hole is square 10 inch and the sub is square 8 inch. Because If I just screw it to the box, won't air escape from the top?

 

Elemental Designs makes a Slimline 10" that is about $70 I believe. Better than Pioneer, Earthquake, Clarion, etc in the shallow subs. I think it's about 3.5" deep. Also TC Sounds is coming out with a high power shallow sub that looks like a beast, using neo magnets helps. I think the TC will be around $300 though. Tang Band has a shallow sub almost identical to the Elemental Designs.
I probably would go with Image Dynamics, Arc, or Adire as dconder stated if you want some good SQ with your beats.
