Sub cuts in and out

My sub recently started to cut in and out. If it's not working, all it takes is a little tap on the cone. And when it's in that state I get like 10M ohms. So I take it the voice coil is shot?

how big was the amp RMS? at what ohm load you were running the sub? and how did you have it wired? What is the RMS of the sub and how many post as to ohms?

If your getting 10 mil. Ohm, I think your voice coil is pretty much getting fried...
