Just for referance for anyone doing future purchases you may want to look at Second Skin products. I got 40 sq ft of Damplifier for $96 and it actually faired better in comparison test's amongst the major sound deadener products (sounddeadenershowdown.com) and was recommended buy other members. Cheaper then Dynamat also which I paid a chunk more for when I had my doors done initially. I used the Damplifier on the rear cab, another layer on my doors, and lined my Volant box. When I decide to go to cover more sheet metal or but a second layer on the rear cab I will buy a box of this stuff again. Anyways looks good and as long as your happy dude

I don't really think he got ripped off. He paid way too much for the bulk pack that's for sure, but he didn't have to pay to have it done. Seriously, it sucks sitting there for an entire day putting that deadening in the doors and on the wall and everything. I bought two bulk packs of dynamat extreme on ebay for $195 for both packs and then I spent two full days doing it. I would have been more than happy to give somebody a few hundred dollars to do it for me. I spent an entire weekend doing it and my body ached for 3 days afterwards because it took so much effort to get it done with good quality.

I'm sorry, but sound deadening is the least fun thing about installing stereo systems. I hate it!!!!

dynamat

Dynamat extreme is not the same as your offbrand no name stuff. He is using dynamat extreme, which is by far hands down the best deadner on the market. The cost of a bulk kit is about $150 and to consider he got it installed for that and he is happy with the deal then more power to him. At leas it is getting done the right way. I paid almost the same just to have my 4 doors done, and 4 door speakers installed. I paid $138 for the Dynamat and I gave my helper $150 for the day of work. Either way you go, great deadner, great job. BTW it would take twoce the square footage of any other deadner to do the same as the dynamat extreme.

jawjaboi, looks good. Sound deadener is a nice investment, definatley makes a nice difference. Even nicer that you got a free install. Install is a bish on it Good to have friends that can hook you up.

If your happy with it and didnt have to put up with the install, you didnt get ripped off.
eDead doesnt have ***** on Dynomat Extreme either. Its cheaper...thats it. Dynomat Extreme is pretty darn nice mat. Yes theres cheaper, but not many that are as good of quality.

Jawjaboi,
Nice work man. Regardless of brand the work looks solid. I am curious though. How did you handle the two vents on the lower right and left of the back wall. Did you deaden right over them or around them? I am curious because I amdoing mine tomorrow night and Wednesday and could use some input.

I went with the Second Skin Damplifier, for the record, but I see nothing wrong with the choice of Dynamat Extreme. I went with the Damplifier because I have a friend that has it and was super happy with it.

Second Skin is good stuff IMO, dont cover those vents because it is to allow cabin pressure to escape when you shut the doors and things of that nature.

Just curious here, it seems like installing this would cut out a lot of road noise too. I know most people do it for the sound of their system but in the few cases where your radio wasn't BLASTING, did you notice a big reduction in road noise?

VERY big difference, also cover the vents for even less road noise no matter what anybody else says there is still plenty of places for the air pressure to escape when it needs to.
