Regular cab options???

Hey,
I have an 05 regular cab xlt...and i'd like to add a little bit more bass, not looking to shake the windows of houses, just a nice sound. i like good music, not loud, there is a differance, but there isn't anyone that makes a good quality 8 or single 10 that i've found. any suggestions? thanks all.

what? there are TONS of good 8s and 10s out there

image dynamics
treo
ascendant audio
resonant engeneering
JL audio
elemental designs
digital designs
sound splinter
stereo integrity
arc audio

all of them are going to have at least a good 10 and most have a good 8 too

runing a single elemental designs 9Kv.2 myself ported with about 350 watts I'm going to recommend squeezing as much cone area behind the seats as you can. the old saying "theres no replacement for displacement" applies here as my single little 8 has no authority under about 40hz

I guess what i'm really wanting is a powered sub...one with the amp built right in, kinda like a home theater system has...my bro- in law has a 10" sub and it will shake his whole house...also, how much does adding an amp to the factory 6x8s help with the sound from them?

well really how good do you want it to sound? a powered sub will work but won't have near the sound quality of a subwoofer designed specifically for a SQ application. amping the 6x8's is pretty useless unless you want to upgrade to components down the road

a Nice SQ setup would include a higher end H/U from say alpine, kenwood, or eclipse. components such as the rainbow germaniums, a SQ sub from any of the manufacturers I mentioned and I high quality amp from someone like zapco, usamps, brax, genisis, arc audio, tru technology, etc etc, the possibillities are endless but with proper planning and reaserch you could have a killer SQ setup for well under 2000, really it all depends on how much you want to spend and how good yu want it to sound
