When you had this box, did it fit flush or stick out?

Do you have the dimensions?

When you said paint my plate to match the trim, did you mean the grayish trim outside of the tray or the blackish of the tray? Pictures really do help when matching. The blackish paint I used is really close to the tray now. Matching the grayish might look better.

My bad I was calling it plasticoat it's Plasti-Dip made by Performix.

http://www.plastidip.com/consumer/index.html black spray rubber coating. It has that OEM rubberized feel and color of the black used in our trucks.

It sits flush. Course you didn't say where you got it from. I got mine which looks identical from ebay. Then there is musicmoose and supercrewsound.

Dimensions for what, The center channel plate?

With this setup, did you need the seat lifts?

No. Mainly because there are no 12's with that little of mounting depth. There are not even very many 10's that will fit under the seat without a lift. Not to mention 12's. At least, not what I would consider many quality 12's. I still think the Image IDQ 12 might fit without a lift. But, since I went back to a lift, it was kinda irrelavent.

No, I do not have the box. Do you mean the depth front to back so it does not stick out from under the seat or the max depth for a sub?

Honestly, the H701 is way overkill for me. Before I got the Alpine setup, I had a Kenwood DDX-7015 and their processor. It was a lot less money than the H701 and did everything I need. That is why I wish Eclipse still had built in 5.1 in their head units. I would swap the Alpine today for a good double din head unit that had 5.1 built in. Impact has the Kenwood flip out that does 5.1 and Pioneer made the 7500 that had 5.1. I think the Valor unit has built in 5.1 but, I just would have a hard time going from Alpine to Valor. If Kenwood, Pioneer, Clarion or Eclipse made a double din with built in 5.1 processing, I would be very tempted to switch. Alpine does make the theater amps with built in 5.1 but, then I loose tons of power. Going from 270 watts to my Germs to 65 watts is not what I would want to do.

But, I do love having 5.1. I still have yet to hear a 5.1 music DVD. I have heard they are awesome. But, for movies, it's great.

They make 2 single din flip out units that use their 5.1 processor. Their top of the line 7000 or another one the 5000 or something like that. But no double dins.
