Rainbows, need info!
Rainbows, need info!
I'm ready to step up to the Rainbows but I want some input
so PLEASE let me know what line do you have and how you like them. Thanks!
EDIT:
I did do a search for Rainbow and hundreds of the same post come up suggesting doing a "search".
What I'm after is to find out info on the 6.5 sizes for the fronts of my truck;
1. What line are most people using
2. How do they like them
3. I'm interested in the Germanium, Profi, and Profi Vanadium lines
4. Interested in finding out what's the difference between their regular 6.5 woofer, kick woofer, and the plug
I also have read everything about them on their web site but I want info from people that have actually had them in their hands and used them.
Thanks,
John

But, whatever you choose, any of their lines are top notch in that price category.
I spent just about 3hrs reading the never ending post between you and Bryan about the amps, speakers and everything else in the world last night. Well hurry up and get the Germ's installed and take LOT'S of pictures on the progress.
Thanks,
John

If mine come today, I will have them in by tomorrow evening for sure.
There are several people on here with the Germs or getting them.
Germanium, CMX, SLC, SL
this would be most populor lines of Rainbows, Germs being the highest in the list and going down from there..... 450.00 and down....
you can go up from the Germs, which I think is the Profi, 550.00 to 600.00 range..
from there.... you are in the 1000.00 up range...
Rainbow make speakers for anyone at a range from 90.00 to 10,000.00.. how much do you want to spend.... they have it....
BTW, John Scaro, pics in my gallery of Rainbow Germs and SL's

I like my ProVandis. They are the older version, but still impressive. Tweet takes some toning down since it is a metal version (the Vandis are the metal version-metal cone on the mid and metal dome tweeter). Some people like the metal dome sound, some dont.
Im not the biggest fan of them, but I have them sounding pretty good and you get used to it.

1) How do the Germs and the SLs sound together in the truck?
2) How much power are you running to each set?
3) Would you choose a different set up other than you have now after installing?
4) What kind of deaden material did you use?
5) Why didn't you use the 5x7 on the rears?
Your setup looks SWEET
Thanks for the help!

1) Would you go with the Germs or the Profi if you could do it over?
2) Did you get the Kick version?
Thanks again

I've had these amps since '98 and they are AWESOME! Didn't even have a nick on them till I installed them into this truck
Wasn't paying attention....

Wasn't paying attention....Brypink is running the Power series. They are suppose to be unreal. One of the best tweeters available and the mid is 7" instead of 6 1/2" and 4" deep. Of course they run just a tad under $1,000. I went with the Germs for the silk tweeter. I have just never been a fan of the metal tweet.

No, i'm very happy with the Front and Fill stages, but still trying to get the Sub stage tuned in..
EDEAD V1SE2 with EDEAD V4
I dont like the bass output on oval speaker of any brand

I have yet to hear the Germs. The Germs tweet would probably be a little smoother since it is the non metallic version (Both are Cal 25's though) and Im not sure how the mids compare.
I can only wish I had the kick version
I got these used awhile back pretty cheap, so I really could pass them up. Im glad I got them. However, Ive been tossing around the idea of getting a little more 'mellow' tweeter and maybe trying active, but still using these mids.
