Custom boxes for a 06 SCAB

Guys I have some subs I want to transfer from my cobra into the truck but I am starting to think it won't be possible. The subs require a ported box with about 1 cubicft of air space per speaker.

anyway if you can post up your custom boxes regardless of size of speaker etc just let me know what you were able to get and give me the specs on it please.

I need to start getting some ideas.:santa:

What kind of subs are they? Unless they have a high Qts or something you should be able to put them in a sealed box.
Eitherway, 1 cu ft is a small box, so you can probably fit that under the seat...with a seat lift. If you dont lift the seat you are very limited and are not going to fit 2 cubes ported under there...
Just a few things to think about...

yea you wont fit the SX under the seat without a seat lift. Also the SX really likes ported boxes. If you are going to go with a sealed box you might want to think about selling the SX and going with an SE.

Yeah, SX's do like ported better....

Some of the guys around here should have pics of lifts in their gallerys. I think the place most of them get them from is LMI Welding. They cost way to much for a seat lift IMO oppinion, if you have the skills I would make one.
Try a search for LMI seat lift on Google or something and you could probably steal some of their ideas and make one for a tenth of what they cost.

I just put my seat lift in (and completely overhauled my interior) I got my seat lift from LMI, I was scheptical about the price, but when i recieved the kit, I was very pleased. There is no way I could have put together something as intriquite as that kit. If your going to do a seat lift in the 04+ body style, buy that lift kit. I will have pics of it tomarrow check out the 04+ forum, tomarrow. I think that you could do a ported box under the seat with the lift. I ended up with a little over 2 Cubic ft. in my box after it was all said and done. My box is sealed by the way.

yeah I saw the seat lift in a few other threads after a search.

I am not really interested in going that route.....not that I use the rear seat much but with the lift it makes it damn near impossible to get anyone but a toddler back there.

I am still months away from doing anything anyway so I will have plenty of time to really figure out what is best.

Right now I am leaning toward getting some nice component speakers and 6x9's or whatever we have in the doors/rear. buy an amp for those and power it. if that isn't enough I will try and find a badass 8" sub that can fit in a ported box and maybe try that out...who knows..

My goal with this truck was to keep it as close to stock as I can. it's really hard lol.

on the contrary. I'm 6'7 and sitting in the back seat is actually more comfortable for me. There is still enough head room, and there is more of the bottom of the seat to sit on because the seat lift moves the seat out about an inch

That is odd. I am 6' and when I had the seat lift, my head hit the ceiling. I had to slouch in order not to hit it. I could not sit straight up.

Maybe there is that much of a difference between the Scabs and the Screws though...
