12" Sub box idea

I have a 1997 extended cab ef won fiddy and I have a nifty idea for a new box. I currently have a Q-Logic box with a Alpine R-12 strapped to my back seat. I was thinking of removing the drivers side bottom of the rear seat and bolting the box where the seat use to be. This would allow me to securely mount the box to the truck, so I wouldn't have to worry about it becoming a projectile during an accident + it would sit under the bottom of the side window keeping it out of view.

Had a box like that in mine...worked fine. Looks a little out of place, but it worked none the less

Yeah thats one of my grievances. Every time I open the third door it sticks out like a bloody thumb. I want to bolt it down, and then re-carpet it tan to match the truck.

Yes it does.

What I did was actually cut my whole seat bottom in half, the 60 section from the 40 section. Then the box sat on top of the seat risers, and downfired into the floor. Drilled a couple holes through the seat risers and stuck some bolts in there, and that was it.
