Which Rainbows?

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I have an 07 F150 XLT Supercrew. I have read as many posts as I can find on Rainbow speakers, but I'm still unsure of which models will work the best with my other equipment. I'm looking for sound quality not just loud. I will be using the factory HU and a JL Audio 450/4 amp. The plan is to put a single 10" under the rear seat and drive it off the front 2 channels of my amp which is 300w bridged. The front speakers will run off the rear 2 channels which 75w rms.

What Rainbow sub and component speakers would you recommend. My budget for sub and speakers is $750.

I would say the Germaniums I am just not sure if 75 watts is enough to do them justice. Minimum power suggested is 75 watts. The SLC line would work and be cheaper. But, if it was me, I would get the Germs and see if the power was enough. If it isn't, I would buy a bigger amp. I think the speakers would be worth it.

In that case, I could run the Germanuims off the front 2 channels (150w rms) and buy another amp for the sub. The rear channels could then be used for rear fill or not used at all.

I was just uncertain of which model of Rainbows to go with. Thanks for the advise!

I agree, Germs or Soundlines.
When I saw this post I though of the Soundlines first, Germs will probably work too, I think they would like a lot more power though.

For the sub, Profi or Vandium line is what I would go for...

Not sure on prices though, talk to Bryan, he can get you some prices to go off of.

Thanks for the input. How do I get in touch with Bryan?

Your front channels are 150 watts at 4 ohm and your rears are only 75 watts? Seems weird. If you have 150 watts for the front I would go with the Germs too.

Find a man by the undername of Brypink2 and send him a Private Message

Ya, it's a weird amp. 150w X 2 at 4 ohms for the front channels and 75w X 2 at 4 ohms for the rear channels. But, it is a great sounding amp for what it is. I like it.

Hmm, well I would do 150x2 for the front speakers, and bridge the rear channels for the sub then...you should still be seeing + or - 300 watts bridged, just about perfect for one of those Rainbow subs

What kind of amp is it?

Here is their website. Like I mentioned earlier, your best bet is to get ahold of Bry and politely ask him if he could get you some prices after you get an idea of what you want

I just got the Germs myself and cannot wait for them to get here. I plan on putting the SLs in my back doors next quarter.

I am going to be pushing the germs with a US Amps MD22, which from what I understand should be just the right amount of power for them.

BigDave...If I can ask, where did you get your Germs and how much did they set you back?
