opinions wanted on new sub setup
opinions wanted on new sub setup
Ok, im trying to decide which route to take with my new sub(s)... ive currently got the dual JBL 10s, the newer ones that came out this past year. I'm not totally satisified with them and i want to experiment a little to see what other options i like better. My new choices are dual JL 10w1's, a single JL 10w1, or a single JL 12w1... im still gonna be running the SupercrewSound UTS box, i will just modify it if necessary by making a new bottom plate for it to fit the new sub selection. Im wondering if anyone has tried their dual sub box for under the seat with only a single sub in it..and if so what size - 10 or 12? I wondering if part of the reason im not totally satisfied is that the dual 10s just dont have quite enough airspace in that box, the airspace spec on the box is 1 cubic ft combined for both subs. If i were to put a single 12 in there and let it have that airspace all to itself i want to think it might do pretty good, but then again it might not have the bang that the dual 10s would have... Sorry for the long post, i just want some feedback on this so I can hurry up and make a decision on which sub(s) to go pick up, the dual JL 10w1s, or a single 10w1, or single 12w1... thanks for the help folks...
Same problem
I am having the same problem i couldnt even find a box i was thinking 1 10 or 12 but depth is an issue with everything i look at. If you find anything let me know if i find anything ill let you know. Good luck
you can basically get any box you could think of from http://www.supercrewsound.com - many guys on here using their products. Great customer service, prices arent outrageously high either. They have a box that provides 1.0 cubic foot of airspace, and has room to fit either a single 10, dual 10s, or single 12. Mounting depth is somewhere in the neighborhood of 5.5 inches so that gives you a few options to work with. Subs that will fit in there as of right now are the JL 10w1, 12w1, 10w3, JBL GTO 1002 (10"), Infinity reference 10, and Treo TSi 10 just to name a few. Im sure some other people will chime in with what they are running because there are plenty too choose from. Let me know if you need anything else.
