With regards the the zapco amps, if i run 2 10's would it be better to run a 1 channel amp, or a 2 channel amp? For example you mentions the reference 350.2 and the 500.1. But which one you run? I'll probably be running 2 ED 11kv2.

For the door speakers, i was looking at the SLC265 which is jsut the component speakers. Would those be an improvement over the 165's?
Also what size amp would you recommend for the speakers? Thansk for the help.
First off...I meant to type SLC265 Kicks...not 165.

Run the Zapco 350.2 on the components and the 500.1 on the subs. The 500.1 is stable down to 2 ohms mono and the 350.2 is stable down to 4 ohms mono (bridged). I would get the the 500.1 and two 2 ohm DVC subs and wire them in series and a 350.2 to power the SLCs.

This would make a great system. You can not go wrong with the Rainbows or the Zapcos.

I'm sure it would, but i have to see if i can swing buying 2 Zapco amps. I'm on a college student budget here. lol. Are there any online authorized dealers for zapco? I saw that wooferetc.com and some other one were not authorized, and the serial numbers are erased.

I need to get the HU here after christmas. I want a flush sitting DVD player, but i might just have to go with the pop-out since they seem to be a little more affordable. Has anyone bought the alpine iva w200 from ebay? They seem to be acouple hundred bucks less, but i don't know if it'll end up costing more in the long run. Also what about speedsound.com they have them for 799 are they an authorized alpine dealer?
Also i found a couple of the zapco 200.2 for sale on other forums, would that be enough to push the door speakers? And for the time being run the two 10's with an ED NINe.2x. I'm sure the zapcos are good, but really pricey.

Thanks for the help.

There is nothing wrong at all with getting the ED amps. They are a lot cheaper and would serve you well. Bryan's is always going to recommend Zapco and I will always recommend Arc Audio. But, they are both quite pricey.

You could probably get a package deal on a pair of 11Kv2 subs and one or two amps and get a great deal.

Go to their web page and enter forum as a search word. It will take you to the page where the discounts are. You can get the 11Kv2 for $65 each and the nine.x2 for $225.

Here's the link for the group discount. I've had my 2 10's in a musicmoose box for a little over 6 months now & no problems at all.
http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/index.php?cPath=90 Pics are in my gallery. Don't have a picture of the Punch 150 though that is running the subs. It's just like the Punch 75 but bigger.

I must be old school as im going with a old u.s. amp 150 and a USX2 crossover running JL audio 10s.For highs currently have replacement pioneer 6x8 4 ways but would like to run 2 sets of cdt 6.5 seperates and get a 4 channel amp for them. I also have a set of mb quart 5 1/4 seperates laying around and they used to sound so good in my old s-10 but dont think i would be able to fit them unless i had custom pods made to house them.I have a pioneer 9800 bt head unit and will add xm and ipod controllers to it soon.Glad to see everyone fixing up their trucks with good audio

I just sold my last Zapco 350.2 the other day for $225 (shipped). I like Zapco so I can use the Symbilink feature (I even think the newer iForce are compatible now) and amongst other reasons.

If you buy used Zapcos, which there's nothing wrong with that, both of my 9.0s were bought used...make sure they have an intact and untampered serial number (sticker) on the back. That way if you ever need to get work done on it Zapco will do it...they wont mess with any of their amps if the sticker has been tampered with.

About the Rainbows...If you can swing it, look at the Germaniums ($450), very nice set and very versatile. If not (and since you are running a sub) look at the SLC165 Kicks (about $260-70). I think you'll be happy, 99.9% of everyone is. The PowerLines (like I have) are $950...thank God I didn't pay that much.
Are you running Powerlines or JL W7's?
