Ok I'm not that big into the whole aftermarket audio system, but have a few questions. A few years ago I bought some Rockford Fosgate FNX2416 components. Now I think they are 6in diameter, can't remember off top of my head. So I was wondering if I put those in my front doors got some decent 3-way's for the back, and a small say 8in sub. Could I run it off the stock HU with a small amp for power? I would like a little more bass, but not enough to bounce a quarter on the roof. If it would work what are recommendations for wireing it all together?

By rearfill, styx means getting rid of the rear speakers altogether. There are a lot of people who think you do not need rear speakers at all when you are setting up a SQ system. It can ruin the front stage. That is totally up to you. I run rear speakers for surround sound when I am running movies. If its just me and I am listening to music, I turn the rear speakers off.
With one amp, I assume you want to just amp the sub. That will work. What I might suggest doing is getting a 4 channel amp. Run the front 2 channels to your front component speakers. Bridge the rear channels to run a subwoofer, and run the rear speakers off your head unit. You can run the components off the head unit but, they will sound much better off an amp, even if you could put at least 50 watts to them.

Ok so do I just run the wires for the speakers from the head unit to the amp, and then put in some more wires to go to the components? Also where would be a good spot to mount the tweeter on the door that came with my components, and where is a good place for the distrobution box? I'll try to get a picture of the parts I'm talking about. I'm also thinking about going with an aftermarket hu with a screen so I can mount a rear camera. If I did that could I just ditch the stock speaker wires, and run my own wires?

Yeah I was more into the make my mustang go faster, then I traded it for my truck. I just remembered I had these speakers sitting here so figured I'd see what I could do with them. Knowing me I'll probably just wind up getting some other parts for my truck, and never touch the audio system.
