I need advice. I am wondering if a center console sitting in the middle of the floor in front of the bench seat would give a better sound than the doors. I am thinking about building a console to hold a component system comprised of two tweeters, two mid-ranges, and one 8 inch sub. The console would angle up toward the driver and passanger. Anyone done such a project or have any suggestions as to the possibility of the proposed project?

 

ive heard of people putting subs in center consoles. make sure the console is stout cuz that many speakers can put out some pressure. when wiring, wire the speakers on the driver side to play sound from the stock passenger speakers and for the passenger side speakers wire them to play the stock driver speakers. i think it will sound great.

 

If you are wanting to put components or coaxials in it, I wouldnt do it.
Balance and timing would be non-existant pretty much. Bad staging IMO...
