Speakers: 2ohm vs 4ohm & 6x8 vs 6.5

I am looking at various component systems for my fronts and was wondering why some speaker systems are 2ohm instead of 4ohm?? Also, would 6.5" (w/ 6x8 to 6.5" adapter) really sound much better than 6x8s??

I am leaning more towards just using the deck to power the speakers because there are more exterior mods I want to do than interior (ie: tires, bumper replacements) I just want JVC HD radio to sound decent. I am really debating on getting a superior model to the basic model for this reason such as polk db's instead of momo's or infinity reference rather than kappa's. Would that be smart since I probably wont amp them anyway or should I get the higher end of the brand in the front components and lower end for the rears??

Sheesh, I don't remember stereo's being so difficult when I was younger...
