Buying from eBay????

What are the dangers of buying a new product off an eBay Store? I know they dont carry a warranty but other than that is there anything to be worried about?

I can get an Alpine MRP-M650 amp of Crutchfield for $300 while the same one cost about $190 + shipping fro a pretty reliable seller with feedback of 99.2%

Should I be worried about buying something like this?

sometimes the product will be used, sometimes you will never know if the product was stolen & purchased illegaly, but study their feedback comments, look at some of the items sold in the feedback, see how long they have been a member to ebay, and if you can trust the seller and agree with the payment, purchase it.

Judging by that sellers feedback scores ( 2900 positive in the last month and 23 negative in the past month ) I would say that you could trust it, but read all the negative comments and look at the product that the negative seller purchased.

I've used ebay quite a bit (buy and sell) over the last 5 or 6 years. Feedback says everything..

I bought a New laser printer with a HP warranty off of eBay. THe best I could tell when I got it is that it had been dropped while in the box. I had to have $150 worth of HP warranty work done to it. I got it fixed at no cost to me, but it was a hassle, and not everything on there has a warranty like my purchase. I looked for items with warranties specifically.

I've had good luck with millionbuy.com also try sounddomain.com they are authorized dealers of everything they sell. Millionbuy is cheaper and although their warranty return service has left a bad taste around here I'd say it's a safer bet than ebay. I have bought amps off ebay with good results just keep that feedback in the 99% range with lots of feedbacks.

In addition to my previous comment, I have bought and sold many items on eBay (currently selling a ton of sports cards on there). You just have to read the feedback as others have noted, and be cautious. Read the descriptions fully, and ask questions to the buyers or sellers if you want to. You can feel them out sometimes that way.
