My sub wont hit where i wan ti ttoo, help!

OK this i smy problem. I installed a 10" sub in my truck and have it all hooked up and everything. I also replaced the front 2 door spweakers, bu tmy back speakers are still the crappy factory ones. My question i swhy is it that my sub is automatically hooked in to the back speakers? WHen i put all my sound going to the front speakers i get no sub, bu twhen i put all my sound going to the back speakers i get sub with a lot of distortion, and of course no sound from my nice new speakers. I just want to know how to make it so i can put my fade all the way forward and still have my sub hitting.

Give some insite on how you hooked it up. Are you using the factory head unit? Are you using RCA cables or speaker level inputs? There could be many reasons this is happening, but let us know more info.

If you are running the stock HU will an LOC you must have tapped into the rear speaker wires.
If you are running an aftermarket deck, you either plugged the RCA's into the rear pre outs instead of the front, or else if your sub preout is also a rear pre out, make sure your HU settings are correct to switch it to sub outs.

I have an aftermarket head unit. I have the remote wire from the back of the head running to my amp, and one set (2cables) of RCA cables running from the back of the head to my amp also. there are two spots on my amp for rca cables, one labled "front subwoofer", the other is "rear subwoofer". Ive tried switching the cables bu tthen the subs just dont hit at all. the rca's and the rem wire are the only things connected to the head though. I didnt even touch any of the factory speakers when installing the sub

I am pretty sure you issue is where they are plugged in the head unit.

Where on the head unit did you plug in the RCA cables? Are there multiple RCA connections? A lot of newer head units have seperate RCA just for the sub.

Some cheaper decks do not have non fading RCA outs. All they have is a rear set. No way to avoid this if he has a cheap deck.
