Today when I was driving home I smelled a burning smell in my truck. The speaker system started popping on the back right. Now the system works but it is not very loud. The pop happens when I turn on the truck and goes crazy if I turn the radio on (intermittently) All original equipment in sound system. Any ideas? Should I worry that my truck is going to burn up?

 

Oh that's just your ticket to a good aftermarket stereo system stuck in the rear speaker. That smell was just the smoke from it magically appearing in your truck .

That speaker is blown just replace the speaker with a cheap 5x7 if your not in the market for something better. It may be covered under warranty if it's a new truck.

 

Throw some bacon on the AMP and have some breakfast!!
