Question Four 8's or Two 10's

Hey guys, I was wondering what would give me more thump, 4 8's or 2 10 inch subwoofers?? Im not even sure if it's possible to fit 4 8's but I'll worry about that later. Also, how many watts of power will give me some bass that I can feel? I'm pretty new but I've seen people with 150 watt 12's to over 1000 watts of subwoofer power. I was thinking along 400-600 watts would be sufficient??? Thanks in Advance!!

one of my favorite setups ever was 4 RE8's ported 2cuft@36 with 900w rms. everyone swore it was a single 15 when they heard it. my last system was two 10s but I wouldn't recommend those. since they needed about 1.5cuft and 1000w rms ea. I'm really tryin hard to convince myself to build a box for 2 18s but I might just break down and use the two 8s I have left and just run them under the seat... altho I did want to glass up some midbass 7s in the kicks

Hey Styx,
I'm looking for some "feel the kick drum" but not BOOOOOM BOOOOOOM my ears are bleeding bass. Would a single 10 RF Punch w/ a 75x2 bridged be sufficient in a Screw, or would I need more speaker/power?

8s or 10s will give good midbass and/or quick bass for rock type music. Go sealed, and plenty of power.

nope need at least 400-500 watts to get a dex=cent volume out of anything. kick you feel is in the 80hz-120ish range.

i have a 2002 supercab with 4 tens under the seat. All i had to do was make a custom box for it then take out the brakets holden the seat up and blolt the box down with the seat on it. Seat belts and everything still work.

BB gotta post some pics of that setup!

I got 1 polk MOMO 10 in a q-logic box and it packs some punch. Not nearly as deep sounding as a 15 but but plenty of punch for the space. Best thing is there's room for my X-box under the seat and the tire jack. In my opinion 15's need 8's to balance out the low range so i would go with 12's if you have the room.

hell my two 10's needed 8's to run midbass it depends alot on how the driver functions at higher freq than sheer size. my 10's couldn't handle anything more than 60hz and my comps wouldn't be happy under 120 I do recomend running seperate midbass but thares the whole added cost thing

I've got a JL Cleansweep on my factory 6disc mp3, JL 450/4, JL 500/1, JL Stealthbox that comes with 1 10w3v2, JL wiring... but Polk MOMO components front and back.

How does it sound? To be honest, like ****. The damn box makes all kinds of whistling and buzzing sounds with anything resembling actual bass. I think something is very very wrong, but the *** wad at the place I bought it doesn't agree. I will be going back sometime soon to argue and get it replaced since I have an extended warranty.

*IF* it wasn't for the buzzing, however, it would sound pretty awesome. It sounds like the damn sub is blown, actually. but I don't think it is.
