Sub Swop?

I have 2 10 inch Audiobahn subs in my reg cab f-150, and I am thinking about swopping them out for 1 12 inch JL. Will I lose alot of sound. I know the box has alot to do with it, but will I lose alot? Doing this mainly for extra room.

To many variables, and not exactley enough info. It all depends...if you have two lower model 10's in smaller boxes, and throw in something like a W7 in a nice box, you might not loose any volume. There are just so things to take into account...

There are a lot of variables in your question. What model audiobahns are you running? How many watts are you running to them? What JL sub will you be getting? Is it the Stealthbox? Will you be running the same watts that you ran to the 2 10's to the 1 12? What ohm rating is your amp good for? What ohm rating are you running your 10's at? What's the ohm rating of the JL sub you're looking at?

You see where I'm going with this?

2 10's as a general rule will produce higher spl simply based on the fact that they have an overall greater surface area than 1 12" sub. HOWEVER... given the fact that you will PROBABLY be using the same amount of power for the 2 10's to drive 1 12, the 1 12 will PROBABLY be louder.

I get what yer sayin

I went through all the specs and found that 1 12 should be louder than 2 10's, for exactly that reason. I will be using more watts on one sub, rather than dividing the max amp wattage by 2 for 2 subs. Thanks.
