some of the best subs out there. everyone will have a personal opinion on what to get, but i have personally had JL and Alpine and i liked my JL a lot better. Good Quality, Good Sound, but again its all personal opinion!

JL audio produces a vast array of amps, speakers, subwoofers, and other misc equipment that will outperform 75% of the other stuff out there.

Their amps and subwoofers are their strongest and most well known products.

They are known for a no-compromise sound quality woofer nomatter which model you get, ranging from the W1 all the way up to the W7.

I have run MANY MANY JL subwoofers (over 12) in my 5 years of car audio experience and never had one that didn't do better than I expected.

The only real downside is the price, they can be a bit pricey. But their entry-level stuff is VERY affordable for what it does.

I wasn't happy with anything less than a W6v2 or a W7 (enclosure dependent).

Their slash series amps are built like tanks and very versatile.

Albeit, all their products are over priced and not IMO worth the price to performance you get compared to what else is out there. If you were to go used at a good price...then that's a different story.

lol Bry well someone like you or me would actually notice the difference in range and versatility between a w3 or a w6v2, but to most all they would notice is more "oomph."

I switched from 3 12w3s to 3 12w6v2s in basically the same enclosure, I just made it twice as thick...and although I could hear an awesome difference in the overall flat and fuller frequency response, most people that heard both systems just thought it was louder. Shrug...newbies!

To expensive for me, but if your wallet allows for it then they do make some great products. When you are buying stereo stuff, factor in what you want. (SPL or Sound Quality). If you just want people to hear you dont spend the money on JL becuase it is more of a sound quality than an SPL woofer (in my opinion). Everyones ears hear different things.

Research, Research, Research. Learn as much as you can about car audio before you go into a stereo store and get overcharged becuase they know they can take advantage of you.

Thats my two cents.

JL does indeed make great stuff but, pricey. Some people love it and will use nothing else. Others, me included, think it is great stuff but, there is others out there just as good and some a lot cheaper.

I've got an 06' supercrew and I've got a 250/1 JL amp running 2 JL 8w3's subs under the back seat. The nice thing about it is they (car toy's) were able to leave the the spare tire changing stuff under the passenger side. And they allowed me to buy my own stuff and they installed it for me. I bought everything on ebay. I wound up buying 3 subs cause one had a bad voice coil. Other than that, no problem. I spent about $450 on 3 subs, 1 amp, 1 amp wiring kit, line converter, variable gain switch, and shipping! It cost another $250 (after taxes) to get the custom box built and everthing installed. It looks awesome and sounds even better.
