Exclamation Beware Of This Ebay Seller!!!!!!!

widetrack_gt

I recently purchased two JL 10w3v2's from this seller. Her name is Lisa Whitley, but her ebay id is widetrack_gt Everything seemed to be fine until this weekend when I went to install my subs. One of them worked perfect and the other one didn't. To be sure it wasn't something my friend or I had done, I took it up to my local stereo shop and they tested it. They said that one of the voice coils is broken in the sub. I contacted the seller and got the nastiest rudest message I have recieved from an ebay seller. This only confirms my theory that she knew of the problem before she shipped them. Of course I have already filed a paypal dispute and escalated it to a claim. I also am in the middle of retracting my positive feedback I left when I got the subs before I acutally installed them (noob mistake). I just want everyone to beware so that you don't have to go through some of the same things I have. I would really like to drive up to Alabama and lay the smack down on her candy ***, but we all know that gas prices are a bitch.

That sucks, and that is the reason why I won't EVER buy anything off Ebay..

Sorry to tell you this, but your not going to get your money back from paypal either... As long as they provide a tracking number saying it was delivered, they are off the hook.. I have been screwed that way as well... I know the frustration as I have been there before.. Good luck with everything!

i feel you about not buying on ebay. This is the second time for me. I kinda look at it like this though. I just bought a brand new eclipse avn5500 from a guy in LA with an electronics store for $1140 shipped. It would have cost me $1699 from crutchfield. So the fact that I lose a sub I payed $100 doesn't drive me that crazy. However, if I have to dig this box up out of the trash and drive to Alabama I will get my money's worth. Thats all im saying. Take care man, and I will keep you updated. Maybe pay paypal a visit too..lol

also beware IndoAudio . they sell used /refurb junk without warranty and have a horrible attitude. they try to hold out as long as they can to avoid giving you a refund. they take returned products from other places and sell them

I used my bank credit card, but not a pay pal credit card. How long did it take for them to resolve the dispute? How did you get screwed exactly? What did you buy? Did you send them any supporting evidence or speak with anyone on the phone?

Yes ,YOU will get your money $$ back from paypal. I had a bad deal about 6 months ago over $ 55.00 it took about a month to get it minus the shipping to paypal. But you will get most of it back. Been there done that!!!

ebay

hey all
I would have to say that over the years ebay has saved me a lot of money. I buy alot from them, computers stereo equiptment, phones, even headlights. My key is to always buy from someone with a lot of feedback and accepts paypal. They are reputable and if they accept paypal you will always get your refund if they give you problems. Don't get discouraged by one or two con artists. OK well thats my 2 cents, back to the forums.

So far, I've had good dealings on Ebay. I try to find someone that has 100% positive feedback, great replies from customers & that have been an ebay seller for awhile. Not someone with a lot of negatives & been selling for only a few months. Best of luck on getting your problem resolved.

If you are still having problems the best and fastest way to get your money back is a dispute through the card you have, even if it is a bank card as long as it says visa mastercard or something like that you ahould have dispute rights just call the number on the back of the card.

This seems like a individual user so this won't help, however if you ever are having trouble with a purchase from a business, this little trick has worked for me multiple times (and even got a few items for free).
I threaten to report them to the Better Business Bureau, the States Attorney's Office from the state they are doing business in and finally, the FBI Interstate Fraud Department. It's funny how quickly you get a response or the purchased item when they hear this.
Note, all of these options do exist and are legit. While I've never had to actually go through with the threats from an eBay transaction, I did report a company that stiffed me for some computer hardware I was buying for the company I work for. And yes, it did get resolved!

Sorry to hear that!!

Jarrett,
Hey man, I hate that your subs didn't work out.
I installed the OEM you sold me in Thomasville the next day and it sounds great.
I didn't have the audiophile HU so I had to go through a line level output converter and a set of crossovers. the result is outstanding. I have to turn the bass down when Jessica rides.
Take care and good luck with the E-Bay stuff. I've had nothing but positive dealings.
