Sub box help....

I have a 97 ex. cab F150. And right now i have 2 10's in the back. And both of them have there own boxes. So they are verry small. But my question is, that i'm making a new box that will take up all the room under the back seat ( I made my own 3in seat lift) So this box will also be sealed, so am i going to notice a big differnce with the sups have more air space. Or is it just a wast of my time? And also since both of the subs will be in one box should there be something spliting it in the middle or should i just leave it open inside?? Thanks

Not a waste of time that's the way to go. you will hear a big diff. more air space more bass. And yes put something in the middle to split them, give them there own space.

they will be deeper and louder. your sound quality can improve or diminish depending on how close your current box is to recommended specs and the airspace in the newer box

alright... Thanks.... so should i just put it in the dead middle or what, because wont the cut out for the seat mount make one side smaller then the other side? Or would it not make that much of a diference? And also i have been told that down fire is best, but with the boxes i have not when i turn them over so they fire up it seems to be a lot louder....So what way should i have the fire? Thanks.....

ive heard both, do what you like better. build the box to go around the seat mount and have them share airspace, its ok that way

the fluffy stuff doesnt do too much im not a big fan. they dont need their own airspace. just take the recommended airspace and double it, build your total box volume to match (or exceed by a little).

if youre trying to build each side the same it takes some complex calculations and precise boxwork, because even small differences will cause cancellation and reduce both soudn quality and output

Ok, I'm not to sure of the recommended airspace... I'm just making it as big as i can under my back seat...Also it would be better if it is sealed right?....
Thanks

stick to sealed for now, ported requires a lot more calculation and math to get right

Well i found some info on my subs, and I'm guessing they need 0.75ft^3... does that sound about right? My subs are 10" infinity Reference 1042w.....

for those subs that its correct .75ft^3 so that is a pretty small box. These wont perform as well if you give them too much air space.

So should i not wast my time making them a bigger box? or should i just devided the box in the middle.....to get the air space these subs need what would the box size have to be?? Thanks

A ported box will be twice as loud if tuned right. .75 cubes is about right for the minimum volume.
