Help wiring powered Bazooka sub
Help wiring powered Bazooka sub
I'm trying to get a mental picture of what the wiring schematics would look like if I added a powered Bazooka sub to my truck. Currently, I have a stock HU, a 4-channel Alpine amp, and speakers at each corner. Behind the HU, I have LOC's, then RCA wires running back to the amp, then speaker wire going back up to the rear of the HU...
Now how/what wires would I need to run to the Bazooka?? It needs inputs, right? But from where? If I were to connect my speaker wires to the Bazooka, then my speakers wouldn't work, right??
Obviously I'm a total novice when it comes to audio connections... What I need to know is literally, what get's plugged in to/from where... The power/ground/remote I understand, but the input and output signals I don't.

What I would do is go buy a pair of RCA Y-splitters. Plug them into one of your LOC's, then hook the RCA's that go to your Alpine amp up to the splitters, then another pair of RCA's and run them back to your bazooka tube.
You COULD tap into your speaker wires and run wire back to the high level inputs on the tube (assuming it has high level inputs) but getting RCA splitters and another RCA cord is much easier.
Dont forget to buy two splitters, and make sure they are one male end that goes into two female ends.

One more quick question: It looks like Bazooka makes 2 versions of each of their powered subs; a 2 ohm and a 4 ohm. Which one should I get?

Do you have a link to these two versions?
