HELP! Speaker selection
I'd like to replace the factory speakers on my 2004 SCab, but I'm torn with two different scenarios. Should I:
A) Replace the factory speakers with co-axials that are rated for lower power (to be run off an aftermarket headunit). This is a temporary solution until I get off my lazy butt to buy/wire an amplifier.
B) Purchase a set of components (maybe focals or bostons) and temporarily run them off the head unit until I get around to doing the amp thing.
I know the components will sound like total crap until I amp them... which is why I am considering the cheap co-axs as a temporary solution. My real delemma is: Is it worth $40-$50 per set to slap some co-axials in for a few months???

I would get the components. Why spend the money on coaxials if you plan to upgrade to components anyway. They will still be a huge improvement over stock, even with deck power.
Skip the cheapys and go right to the speakers you really want. The only thing you won't get will be volume. Remember speakers produce the sound quality(or lack of) while power produces the volume.
