Fiberglass Box

I have never attempted to build a fiberglass box, but I think it may be a good time to try since theire is no room under the back seat of my screw. How thick would the fiberglass need to be? Thanks.

Hi, I'm currently building a fiberglass enclosure for 2 12's in my 2001 reg cab. You can see my progress in my gallery by clicking the camera thingy up in the banner. I used about 9 or 10 layers of the thick cloth. Then after I was done glassing I went over the box a few times with just resin to help thicken it and also smooth it off. You want a minimum of at least 8 layers or else the box will flex and sound like crap. It will basically sound like its rattling, which in this case would need to be reinforced with more layers or bracing the box. Hope this helps.

take a look at this thread, there are some tips and info that should be helpful. https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=231031
Also I try to get my boxes at least as thick as you would using mdf, so if you would use 3/4 than make the glass 3/4. Good luck ! and don't be afraid to ask questions.
