I have the same sub (with 2 ohm voice coils) and the same box in my '05 Screw. The sub fits very nicely into the box with no mounting depth problems. The box is a pretty tight fit under the seat though. You'll have to play with the placement a bit to make sure the seat locks down. Another thing to note, my box did not come with the terminal cup in the location it is pictured. Mine was installed in the wide flat area of the box that sits on top of the center hump in the floor. No big deal really, but it pinches the wires between the box and the carpet. No issues thus far though.

I'm powering it with a Kicker 350.2 amp (350W RMS @ 4 ohm bridged) and I think it sounds very nice. Not too loud. But if you want booming bass, this isn't the setup for you.

Well that's good to know Stephen S. Thank you for the reply.

However, I'm a little concerned about the
and I think it sounds very nice. Not too loud.
As in, you can't hear it outside of the truck with the windows up, not to loud? Or are we talkin' Infinity Bass Link, not to loud? I had a Bass Link before, and it did not produce like I wanted. Nice blend, but very weak. And I think the Bass Link was rated at 200-250 watts--still sucked.

Can you give me more comparison specifics to your comment on "not to loud" please. I don't wanna get this stuff and then be disappointed. I have no way of hearing what it would sound like before hand.

Thanks bud.

I think with any downfiring box like supuercrew, musicmoose or even probox you run into the "not being able to hear it outside with the windows up". Hell, I cant even hear mine outside with the windows down. The Subs that is. I can hear the rest of the system. I only have 2 8's but inside the cab it can get rather loud. Loud enough that I cannot even push it to the limits. Now on the other hand, if youy build a box like BryPink, with the 2 front firing 10W7s, you should have no problem annoying the neighbors if you know what I mean.

Well I think I'm somewhere in the middle then Rider69. I don't wanna rile the neighbors, but on the same token I don't want to have a sub(s) that do not produce any sound pressure either.

I listen to the "metal genre" in music, which for me requires clean, tight sounding bass. When the kick drum hits, I want to feel that drum resonating, if you no what I mean.

I think you will be plenty happy with a good single 10" setup in the box you show or even better, get the dual 10" box and move your jack or remove all together. Mine will be going in the bed, when I get my bedrug. I think you will be plenty happy with that setup for what you describe. I was initially concerned as well, but am quite surprised that it sounds as good as it does. I listen to all types of music as well. My amp has the adjustable gain, so if I need a little more umph, I can just turn it up from the cab.

Rusty,
The sub and box produce enough volume for me in the cab. I listen to mostly rock and alternative, some metal and country and it does the duty for me. But I can't hear the bass outside the truck with the windows up. I didn't want to be heard sitting at stop lights.

I think it leaves something to be desired if you listen to rap or hip hop. The ported enclosure I have in my wife's car seems to do a better job with that, with less power even.

This setup doesn't create a lot of sound pressure. The sub is designed more for sound quality. This is my first sealed box experience. I've had and heard ported boxes and bandpass boxes with 10's and 12's that you could really feel the bass. But I think they are too 'boomy' for my style. I wanted clearer bass for the rock genre. Give it enough power and I think you'll be pleased with the result.

Edit:
Just added a couple pics in my gallery if you wanted to see what the box looks like installed.

Well I appreciate you guys help.

It's frustrating for me in the sense, I have no way of listening to an F-150 sound system. Therefore, I'm flying by the seat of my pants here. Granted I know what subs sound like, but only by comparison--ones that rattle the windows as they head down the street. I know I don't want that, but I also know I don't want some puss sub either. Middle of the road should do it for me. From what you're telling me and describing, I think I'm on the right track.

By looking at your pictures Stephen S. It does seem it would do the job like I want, especially with the 2 ohm sub instead of the 4 ohm.

Thanks again.

Rusty,
I had the same problem when building my system. I didn't get the chance to listen to anything in other F-150's either. I like the way my system sounds, but if I heard another for comparison, I suppose that might change. All you can do is research.

We're also limited if you want to stay with the hidden box under the seat. That rules out some good subs because of the shallow mounting depth.

I have the 2 ohm DVC IDQ10, and wired it for a 4 ohm load. I found it easier (and cheaper) to find a 2 channel amp that was stable bridged at 4 ohms.

Rusty, you might want to check into the Image Dynamics ID line. Not QUITE the sound quality of the IDQ, but pretty close, and the ID's get a little louder than the IDQ's.

IIRC, the ID's reqiure a little bigger box, which would probably work better with the box you have picked out. I believe mounting depth is the same too. I cant remember that for sure. I know the cover over the magnet can be removed to gain about 1/4 of an inch mounting depth. They will take a little more power too.

Just something to consider.

This is the one I think you're talking about Bartak1. It has to be. It's the only one that has a mounting depth of 5.5 inches in the ID line.

I got an e-mail from music moose boxes BTW, and they recommended a Kicker comp 10, for the box above. I dunno about that. At 250 watts RMS, it seems sorta wimpy to me.

ID10D2 V.310.125" Nominal Impedance (IMP) 1 / 4 ohm
DC Resistance (Re) .95 / 3.8 ohm
Resonant Frequency (Fs) 22.70Hz
Electrical "Q" (Qes) .385
Mechanical "Q" (Qms) 4.14
Total "Q" (Qts) .352
Equivalent Volume (Vas) 2.75 ft3
One Way Linear (Xmax) 17.0 mm
Cone Area (Sd) 350 cm2
Sensitivity (Spl) 86.5db
RMS Power Handling (Pwr) 50 to 400
Speaker Displacement .05 ft3

Yes, that is the sub I am talking about. If you did end up getting it, you might want to get on the Image Dynamics Forums beforehand and ask exactley what the mounting depth is when the back cover is removed, just to make sure it will fit-Im PRETTY sure it will though.

Dont let the 250 watt rating get to you (the first sub you have in this thread, the IDQ, is only rated at 250 watts too). Some subs can get moving dang good with 250 watts. Heck, I have an Eclipse 12 running off 80 watts in the house and that will shake stuff off the wall like crazy. Given its in a home environment, but still... Are you sure it wasnt the Kicker Comp VR (key letters VR there) instead of the Kicker comp. 250 wrms sounds like to much for the Comp line-maybe Im wrong though.
ANYWHO, the Kicker Comp VR can get decently loud. Cheap to boot. Some nice bass on a budget-not exactley stellar SQ though. Ive never had any experience with just the Comp line.
