Wiring Question

My long overdo box and amp that i ordered should finally be in sometime this week and i'm needing a little help with the way that i should wire my subs. I have 2 older JL Audio w6's 12" subs which are each 6 ohms (DVC) and im gonna power in with a newer rockford fosgate punch 6002 amp. I want maximum power from this amp because at 2 ohms it puts out 300 watt x 2 which should match up perfect with my subs because they rms at 300 watts each. I was wondering how you should wire your subs to make them be running at either a 2 ohm or 1.5 ohm load. Will my amp get to hot running these subs this way and begin to kick off. Do you think this will sound good. I plan on putting polyester in my boxes to dampen the sound, is this a good idea? Any help would be appreciated.
