150 db in our Explorer...pics within!!!

Guys,
Thought I would show off mine and my sons stereo system. Its not in the F150 though. These are two 15'' titanium pro series Eclipse subs and two fosgate 900 watt mono amps driving them (1800 total). It just came from a show where she hit 150.4 db .. The air pressure inside the cab is so great if your standing outside with the window cracked it will blow your hair up...depending on how long it is...lol , Check out the pics.

Sweet on the 143 db man
The device was a hand held thingy mabop that he held up near the dash. Windows had to be all the way up also.

Go ahead and get the 18 put in there, I bet it will shake some asphalt

windows all the way up would be sealed
did the mic look like this?

or this:

or?

mic and mic placement will have a BIG affect on your score. on the old audiocontrol legal I hit 143.4 with 2 15" type r's sealen and 900 rms on the new tl they would probably struggle to break 140 legal. even moving the mig two inches from being legal could affect your score be a few tenths. 150.4 is sill one hell of a number to hit with the windows up and doors shut given your running sealed. (altho iv'e seen one 12 hit low 150's)

The bottom link you gave was what the wand looked like. I was outside talking with people when the tech got in the passenger seat and my Son was in the driver seat. What I thought was funny was the fact that the windows were flexing and the wipers were jumping all over the front glass....lol
They put a large plastic full gatorade on top and it bumped it off after one note.
I think anything in the 140-150 range is really cranking it out.
You are right about the mic placement as this one guy tried cheating with his sunrrof cracked and the sun visor pulled over it where the tech couldnt see it. Once he started hitting though, the other techs outside the vehicle could tell and tapped on the glass for him to close it. It gave almost 8 db difference with a little breathing room air.

ok thats the old audiocontrol mic. it VERY loose. your 150.4 would only be about 147ish on the new tremlab pressure sensor. the TL is pretty stiff but its very accurate. I was acually dissapointed that I only pulled a 143 with my 2 10's cause years ago I had pulled a 143.4 on the old audiocontrol with the 2 type-r15's sealed on a songle autotek xs900.2. the 10's were alot louder than that setup for sure but then again I had run them on different mics. I wish I had run the 10's on the audiocontrol as I'd probably be able to pull a 145. now you need to port it. you'd gain about 6 db's and another 2-3 can be had depending on how your box is tuned damn cheaters
