Box question

I'm going to build a new sub box (using 2 alpine type R 10's each powerd by hier own amp if that makes a difference) I know the volume I need but whats better boath drivers in a single chamber box or seperate chambers, and what would be the difference if any ?

Separate chambers. It will be cleaner sounding. Just make sure you can do the air space right. Everybody can make 1 10" w/right airspace but with 2 almost everyone is going shared because of that.

I would recommend seperate chambers as well. If both subs share the same space and say one sub goes bad, then the other sub is working in an enclosure twice the size and may potentially damage it.

single chamber, it will have better damping and more control since the 2 subs will be working together. You will more likely run into phase problems keeping them seperated since 1 sub can't keep the other in check. Also the closer you can keep the subs together the better they will work.

I am sorry but, what does single versus dual chamber have to do with phase problems? That is a simple matter of wiring is it not?

If this is a set up for a daily driver, then this is the way to go. Protects the sub and ensures proper air space per sub if your box calculations are correct. I wouldn't make the subs share a space unless you had no other choice (ie can't get enough airspace by separating). It's not going to make a big difference, but having the separated chamber also add strength to the box - not enough to be overly concerned.. but nonetheless -
