I like the concept of that. It looks awfully close to the seat, so is excursion a problem? What kind of interior volume did you get out of the box in the door?

there is a raised lip around the sub itself, and the sub is low excursion, so it doesnt hit the seat, as far as interior volume, great, filled in all the gaps behind the panel with foam filler, plus lined the back with matting (similar to dynamat), sounds beautiful
added pics of the custom tweet houses too

I'd like to hear that first hand as well, my compliments on the handiwork and idea... although I also wonder what kind of actual volume the sub has to work with, it seems rather minimum... anyway, you shared and thank you!

You did a good job with the fiberglass. It looks like it was part of the door.

Bondo on the sub??? I'm guessing it hit the seat?? Other than that, it looks great! I built this box myself for two Memphis 12" subs, and I also made the 4" seat lift. The vinyl looks crappy in the pic, but it sounds great, so I'm happy.

That 5x7 is useless next to the sub, but the install looks nice except for the stuff on the cone. Some 8 inch mids in the front doors glassed like that wood be sexy.

i should mention that this has been in for more than a year now, with no problems, still hitting like a new sub, even with the bondo, and there are no cracked paint problems(i dont see how there could be), or any other type of problems for that matter... except maybe i should paint that bondo, i admit, its a slight ugly, but it doesnt sound ugly

Pretty simiar to what I did...

I truly doubt that big boy has sufficient air space behind it!

This one does! And its designed to work in a small enclosure.

I used an Image Dynamics ID8 V3 D4 and my box was approx .5 cu ft., which is ideal for this woofer.

I have 2" between speaker and seat and no problems with cone excursion!
